For the quality of the food, I felt that the price we paid Timmy's was very fair. We did have a few mix-ups with planning, which made the day quite a bit more frustrating. For starters, we had to call or personally visit with a representative at lease 6 times before we finally found a menu that worked for us. We felt like several times in there we hadn't been listened to at all, and they were just throwing popular menu ideas at us at random. When we finally had it all set up, and decided what items we were renting, Timmy's asked us to call with the size of the tables we were using to make sure that the linens fit. My fiance called and gave them very precise measurements and they told us that they had written everything down. Then the day before the ceremony, a representative showed up (about an hour late) and announced that they had no linens which would fit the small tables we had in the reception hall and we would have to push tables together in order to fit the linens she had brought. I wasn't pleased with this because I had purposely chosen smaller tables for a more intimate feel. Then on the day of the ceremony, there was quite a bit of confusion concerning the buffet. My fiance/husband and I decided that we would walk around and dismiss tables to go up to the buffet in turn, thus giving us a chance to chat with everyone who'd come. We announced this in the microphone, and promptly got up to begin dismissing tables, and the Timmy's representatives began serving food to the head table!!! Not only did the line move more slowly, causing exactly the problem we were hoping to avoid with smaller groups, but by the time we were through dismissing all of the tables, our food was cold. All in all, I would say that it would be best to try and find a different caterer. However, in northwest Iowa there aren't many options. I attended many weddings around the time that I got married, and it seemed that many people either used Timmy's or HyVee, Timmy's being much the superior of the two options. And the price is not bad. We ended up paying about $8 a plate, which seems reasonable for the quality of the food. I would recommend shopping around, but if Timmy's is the best deal you can find, I don't think it's a terrible option. Probably best to go over quite a bit of the logistics first before the actual ceremony, however.
