Schaffer's Bridal

This is actually a review for the store in Scottsdale AZ. I would highly highly recommend Schaffer's to anyone looking for a quality bridal boutique. They were fantastic!! I had actually purchased a Maggie Sotero dress from a vendor in San Francisco. I needed to have it altered, and The staff at Schaffer's were AMAZING! They stayed late to get me in. They were fantastic with altering my dress. Thank you ladies for making me feel like a beautiful bride! My dress was perfect because of you!

Absolutly terrible....terrible customer service skills, I thought when purchasing a gown that you are appointed a consultant to work with you!! Not at Schaffers, my consultant was incognito....the receptionist was rude and the other staff members (im assuming they were staff) just stood around while i pulled my own dress!!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!

I was so excited to go to Scaffer's Bridal when I got engaged. I went in by myself and have honestly never been treated so rudely. The saleswoman hardly spoke two words to me and seemed very bitchy the entire time. She rushed through explaining to me how their gowns were split up and seemed annoyed at any question I had to ask.I only tried on two dresses before leaving and I immediately cancelled the second appointment I had set up the next week.

Every trip to Schaffer's was a pleasurable experience. They have a large selection of designers and styles. The service was great - they were very helpful and answered all of my questions. Being that my wedding was out of state, they gave me suggestions on transporting it. I absolutely LOVED my dress and am so happy I found it.

I had a great experience at Schaffer's. My mom bought her dress there 30 years ago, and I was thrilled to find my dress there as well. The staff were very helpful throughout the process. During the first fitting, my consultant took into account my preferences (helped that I brought examples of dresses I liked) and worked with me to find the perfect dress. The dress I selected had beading and other elements that I didn't like. The staff were great in letting me know what could be changed and delivered as promised. I had a little trouble with the seamstress when I was getting the length taken up, but the consultant was very good at mediating. Overall great experience!

Schaffer's was awesome when I was buying my dress and the bridesmaids dresses. They were very helpful in finding what we wanted. We had our alterations done there as well. We didn't have any major mishaps but they took in one of my bridesmaids dresses a little too much. But overall we were very satisfied.

I bought my dress here and loved it. I did have a few problems. When I bought my dress I was told it could take 4 to 7 months, but was not told that Maggie Sottero dresses are more on the late side and can take up to 8 months sometimes. I ordered my dress in August and received my dress in late February so I was getting pretty frustrated by the time my dress arrived. Also, when I went in to get my second fitting there were still pins in my dress and no alterations were made. Luckily, the ladies at the shop got my alterations done that evening so I could still try on my dress that same day. Also, all the ladies in the shop were friendly and very helpful. In particular, Allie was so sweet! She made sure I didn't look at dresses outside of my price range and found the perfect dress for me as a petite bride. I loved going there and would never go to David's bridal because they were awful.

I love the variety in designers that you can select for the wedding dress. However, I really didn't like the variety of dresses they had in stock at the actual store. The majority of the wedding dresses at the store were tacky and not trendy at all. Let's just say it was the best I could find given that I shopped in Iowa. Should I wanted a different dress, there was no way I could've tried it on as it was not in stock at the store and if ordered, I had to keep it, even if I didn't like it. Though I ended up being happy with my selection, I think their alterations department didn't do a good job in understanding how i wanted the dress altered. They were very fast in getting my dress ready for the big day. The bridal consultant I had at first wasn't very friendly and didn't really try to help me at all. However, once my dress arrived, the second consultant went above and beyond to provide me the service I was paying for.

Loved the service at Schaffer's! Not from Des Moines but definitely top bridal store in the region after checking out some incredibly subpar stores here in Des Moines. Every person I worked with was outstanding and courteous. One in particular went out of her way to help me with a problem regarding my Rehearsal Dinner dress and it turned out fabulously.I didn't get my "dream dress" here - though I bought both my wedding gown and my Rehearsal Dinner dress at Schaffer's. I bought a dress that my mother chose for me and insisted on paying for. I brought a large group with me - something in retrospect I wish I hadn't done. I wish I had gone in by myself and selected a few to try on in front of the group. My dress was beautiful and affordable (made even more so with that sweet discount they give you) but I should've listened to my own instincts more since I know what I like. Everyone loved the dress, especially my now-husband. So that's that. I do wish the alterations weren't so outrageous - you feel a little held hostage since you're so afraid to take your dresses anywhere else to be altered but what can you do? All in all, it was a very good experience and Schaffer's is definitely a place to go when looking for your wedding dress. They do work hard to please you and have quality merchandise.

Schaffer's is a great place for all of your bridal attire. They have so many gowns and veils to pick from, you are sure to find the perfect gown! The staff is very helpful and will make your gown fit like a glove.

Schaffer's was a great wedding shop to go to for my wedding dress! They treated me like a princess every time I came in. They were very professional and they were amazing at helping me choose a dress. The woman I worked with picked out maybe 15 dresses for me, and I actually liked almost all of them! Very tuned in to your tastes! They explained everything I need to know for the big day and how to store it. Their service was really wonderful! The only part I didn't really enjoy was the price. The dress was well priced, and I even got a discount for choosing to buy a dress within the first week I visited. It was the alterations that really costed a lot. I had a big price tag for a hem and a bustle. People were very surprised when I told them how much the alterations were. However, I really didn't know who else to take my dress to in order to get the alterations done. I knew Schaffer's would d oa great job, and it's such an important dress - but oh well! Everything else was amazing!

I can't say enough good things about this place. They helped me with one crisis after another. Although I didnt order my dress from here, after multiple problems with the shop I did order it from, I decided to get it altered at Schaffers. They changed the dress I was only half-liking into a dress Ive dreamed about since I was a little girl. Even better, three days before the wedding I had lost a bunch of weight due to stress and they were able to take the whole dress in 2 sizes in a day! But the best part was their help with tuxedos. We ordered all the GM tuxes from here but not the groom's. He purchased his tux and shirt elsewhere. The groom's shirt came in on Friday and instead of being ivory it was YELLOW! We immediately ran to Shaffers to see if they could by some miracle order a shirt to match the GM in time. Hal (my angel) who works there with tuxes said "I somehow knew that would happen so I ordered you a shirt last week". OMG. I about cried. They even took the rental shirt in at the waist so it would fit him better (my husband's a small guy). He saved the day and my husband looked AWESOME. They are the sweetest people!

They helped me find my dress and my bridesmaid dresses. They did a great job pinning my style to a dress that I wouldn't have looked at on my own. They made me feel like I was the only one there even though they were extremely busy. I also had a huge group at one point and they were so nice and allowed me to have over 10 women there. They made all of my bridesmaids feel comfortable and helped them find what would look good on them as a group. I loved them!

Loved the experience, Loved the dress, the people were amazing! Making an appointment was very difficult. They only see by appointment and they book up fast.

Wonderfully helpful throughout the process

I went to Schaffer's because I saw a dress in the window that I fell in love with. Though I went for this one particular dress, I did try on many more. The lady helping me asked me questions to get a feel for what I liked, what I wanted and my price range. She then helped find dresses she thought I may like to try on - however, she wouldn't let me try anything on out of my price range (though I wanted to just for fun.) Her reasoning was so I wouldn't fall in love with a dress I could afford which makes sense, but it would have still been nice to try on a few dresses I liked but were too pricey.However, this was the first shop I went to. I found both my bridal dress and a few ideas for my bridesmaid dresses on my first visit. I did hold off but, the second dress I tried on (not the original I had been wanting) ended up being "THE dress." I took my bridesmaids back to try on the dresses and they all loved theirs. They were simple, flattering on every body type and a dress they could wear again - exactly what I wanted. Their pricing was also reasonable and they had a discount - if you buy your wedding dress there you either get 20% off your bridesmaid dresses (if you purchase one at the time of bridal dress purchase) or off tuxedo rental. It worked out well because it made the dresses more affordable for my bridesmaids.I also had a mishap with one of my bridesmaids and had to get her replaced. Schaffer's worked with me and got the dress in via express order and delivery - she even had time to get it all altered.

My first experience with this vendor was horrible. The woman I worked with was rude and totally unprofessional. I fell in love with a custom dress so I decided to go with them even though the woman was so bad. When I came back for my fitting the woman I worked with had been fired and the new woman who was assigned to me was wonderful and made my experience so much better. I have heard bad things from other brides who checked out dresses with this vendor.

The staff was very knowledgable. I needed a dress in less than a week and they were able to find me the perfect one and have it tailored overnight. They also provided us with my husband's tuxedo and his best man's tuxedo - both of these were ready for us without any complications within 3 days.

After a dress search that encompassed Minneapolis, Quad-Cities, and Sioux Falls, a friend recommended Shaffer's--I am pleased to do the same. I was able to find the perfect dress at Shaffer's at a great price. After a small snafu involving the ordering of the dress, Shaffer's worked with me to ensure that the correct dress arrived and could be fitted in time for the wedding. I highly recommend!

AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!! Schaffer's was the best place I looked at for gowns!! The staff is extemely knowledgable,fashionable, and professional!! They had unique dresses that I couldnt find anywhere else! Very reasonable prices too... i tried on dresses from $250 to $6000 and they were all beautiful! I got my dress, bridesmaids, tuxes and all my accessories there,and they were amazing to work with.
