We worked with Dawn. She was great! She was friendly and helpful and I felt like she really got to know us so that it was almost like a friend married us!

Dawn was absolutely amazing. She helped us in every way possible, from helping us focus on exactly what we wanted our ceremony to be to giving us a wonderful reference for a DJ services. Dawn was open and accepting and we felt like she genuinely cared about us and our family. By the end of the wedding planning process we truly felt like Dawn was one of the family. She gave us the unique, personal ceremony we always wanted and we are still getting compliments from people remarking about how they feel that it was the most heartfelt and personal ceremony they had ever been too. Dawn is remarkable!!

Rev. Dawn Halstead was amazing! She helped us to create the most beautiful, personal ,and special wedding! The ceremony was one of a kind and uniquely ours. She really took the time to understand us as a couple and what we wanted our wedding to be. I was nervous in looking for an officiant because my partner and I are of different faiths. I didnt think we could find someone who could make the ceremony spirtual but not religious and satisfy both our spirtual needs. But Dawn did. We could not have asked for a better experience and we are greatful that we had such an open minded and thoughtful officiant to help us through the stresses of wedding planning. Dawn was extremely healpful to us while planning our outdoor wedding. She provided several ceremony ideas and gave many suggestions on how we could make the ceremony very personal to us. She was willing to meet with us several times to make sure all the wedding details were in place. Dawn is very sweet and I felt she genuinely wanted to make our day everything we could have ever wanted it to be.

I hope this is also helpful to future husbands. We are a gay male couple that were married by Dawn on August 14. Dawn was very easy to talk to, and to work with. We knew that we didn't want a "traditional" wedding for our non-traditional relationship/wedding. Dawn gave us a lot of good ideas, and resources to create the ceremony that was right for us. It was a lot of fun putting it together, and Dawn gave us suggestions and ideas throughout. It was a short ceremony (under 30 minutes), but turned out to be fun and beautiful -- just what we were hoping for.

Dawn was a pleasure to work with and I feel very thankful we found her to conduct our wedding ceremony in Des Moines, IA. She was very professional and a great speaker, all qualities we were looking for in an officiant. She really worked with us on creating the ceremony of our dreams. I would recommend her to anyone! :)

Dawn was so great... she was quick to respond to our emails or phone calls. she was open to what we wanted in a service and helped us make it our own. She is such a sweet lady and it was a pleasure working with her. To me, it felt like she was a friend doing us a favor then an officiant doing a job. We were so lucky to have found such a great lady to help us start our life together as husband and wife. My reasoning for 4.5 on value was she was a little higher priced then we were wanting to spend since our service was so short- but over all Dawn was GREAT!!! and we were extremely happy with how everything turned out!!!!

Dawn is a wonderful person to work with and we are so pleased with our decision to use her for our July 2011 wedding. She had a large hand in making our ceremony all that we had hoped it would be. She is flexible, accommodating, and offers just the right amount of guidance. She provided a large amount of material for us to use while planning our ceremony, but was also very open to ideas that we generated. Dawn has excellent communication skills and is very prompt with e-mail correspondence. If we could do it all over again, we would definetily select Dawn as our officiant.

Dawn Halstead performed an awesome wedding ceremony for us, and we could not have been any more pleased with how things turned out. We met with her twice before our wedding day, and she was very professional and very willing to work with us to make the day one that we will always remember. Dawn was such a gift to us during the wedding planning process. My husband and I were looking for an officiant who would help us create a beautiful, unique, and special ceremony for ourselves and our guests that would reflect who we are and Dawn did just that. She really took the time to come to understand Alex and I both as individuals and as a couple. In helping us create a beautiful ceremony, Dawn was always there with helpful suggestions and input as well as creative ideas that would help us bridge together the whole ceremony. I cannot tell you how fantastic Dawn is to work with. Our ceremony was absolutely perfect and we both feel so fortunate that Dawn was able to play such a fundamental part in the biggest day of our lives so far. The following weeks after our wedding we had multiple guests comment on what a perfect ceremony we had and were so thankful that we shared many beautiful moments with our families and dear friends close. If I could do it all over again I would not change a single thing about our ceremony. It was absolutely perfect for us and we have Dawn to thank for so much!

Dawn was very open to how we wanted our somewhat untraditional ceremony performed. We wrote most of our ceremony, borrowing bits and pieces from other wedding ceremonies and having my cousin read a couple of poems during the ceremony. Dawn made some helpful suggestions also, which helped us to tie everything together. If we decide to renew our vows, we will definitely ask her to perform them!!
